Jesse Schellenberg Counselling FAQ

1) What is counselling?

Counselling is a meaningful dialogue that can lead to a different life; it opens up new possibilities to face the challenges and difficulties we experience. Counselling is a place of unconditional acceptance and support for people who find themselves struggling to renew their relationships and create a new life.

2) Is therapy right for me?

It’s not uncommon to have mixed feelings when considering if therapy is right for you. Though not everyone “needs” counselling, counselling is a place where everyone can benefit and experience the potential for change in their life.

3) Can therapy actually help me/my relationships?

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy has a 70-75% rate of efficacy. Even those couples who do not finish a full course of treatment, report a vast improvement in their relationships.

4) Does my insurance cover therapy?

Jesse is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#12014) with the government of British Columbia. As such, many Employee Assistance Programs will cover the majority of the cost of counselling.

5) How much does it cost?

Individual sessions run for 50 minutes and cost $100. Sessions for couples run 50 minutes $120.

Jesse accepts payment in the form of cash or check.
